چکیده
Lead (Pb) is a non-essential element; however, plants uptake it from soils rich in Pb. Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] an important legume crop, and Pb toxicity exerts negative impacts on its growth yield. This study investigated the role of foliar-applied loquat (Eriobotrya japonica Lindl.) leaf extract improving morphological, physiological, biochemical traits soybean under toxicity. were exposed to four concentrations (0, 200, 400, 800 µg/L) supplemented with 0% or 5% aqueous (EJLE). Data relating pigments, proline, total soluble sugars, malondialdehyde (MDA), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), non-enzymatic antioxidant, i.e., [ascorbic acid (AsA), glutathione (GSH), phenolic contents (TPC), flavonoids content (TFC)] enzymatic [superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), peroxidase (POD), ascorbate (APX), reductase (GR)] recorded. Total chlorophyll carotenoids significantly decreased by stress, while lycopene anthocyanin increased. Similarly, MDA, H2O2, AsA, GSH, TPC, TFC, SOD, CAT, POD, APX, GR increased stress. Foliar spray EJLE lowered MDA H2O2 accumulation chlorophylls, carotenoids, lycopene, anthocyanins, antioxidant system. The increase activities enzymes adverse effects stress soybean. application different plant parts compared those receiving no EJLE. It concluded that can improve tolerance enhancing traits. However, actual mechanisms behind these improvements warrant further investigation.

Antioxidative effect of loquat (Eriobotrya japonica Lindl.) fruit skin extract in soybean oil
The aim of this study was to compare the effects of solvent and ultrasound-assisted extraction methods with supercritical fluid extraction on antioxidant activity of loquat (Eriobotrya japonica Lindl.) fruit skin extract in stability of soybean oil at 25°C. Oxidative stability alterations of soybean oils containing 400 (SEA) and 1000 ppm (SEB) of ethanol extract, 400 (SSA) and 1000 ppm (SSB) of...
متن کاملSoybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr].
In this chapter we describe an Agrobacterium tumefaciens transformation method of soybean that utilizes mature half seeds and regeneration from the cotyledonary node region. This method results in fertile transformed soybean plants and transgenic seed in approximately 9 months. Using mature half seeds as starting material has proven to be a reliable method that does not require additional wound...
متن کاملPostharvest physiology and technology of loquat (Eriobotrya japonica Lindl.) fruit.
Loquat (Eriobotrya japonica Lindl.) is a subtropical evergreen tree whose fruit is consumed both fresh and processed. Loquat fruit is a good source of minerals and carotenoids, while the kernel is rich in protein and carbohydrates. It has been considered a non-climacteric fruit, but there is evidence that some cultivars have a ripening pattern similar to that of climacteric fruits. The fruit ha...
متن کاملSoybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) cultivar tolerance to sulfentrazone
Sulfentrazone has excellent soil activity on many small-seeded broadleaf weeds, however, soybean injury in "eld experiments has been noted under certain environmental conditions. Injury levels in these "eld experiments have appeared to di!er in severity among soybean cultivars. Growth chamber studies were initiated with the objective of examining the suspected di!erences in tolerance among soyb...
متن کاملInfluence of Temperature on Nitrate Metabolism and Leaf Expansion in Soybean (Glycine max L. Merr.) Seedlings.
The effect of various day temperatures on NADH-nitrate reductase, NADH- and NADPH-glutamate dehydrogenases, nitrate, protein and leaf area, measured at intervals during the ontogeny of the first trifoliolate soybean leaf, was determined. At 32.5 C and 25 C, nitrate concentration, nitrate reductase, and NADPH-glutamate dehydrogenase activities increased concurrently with leaf development and the...
